Tour of the Shield Control dashboard
The dashboard is your organization's AI-governance overview: usage, risks, and policy activity on one screen. Every number on it is backed by events from the Shield extensions in your team's browsers.
The Safe-AI KPIs
Three headline indicators sit at the top:
- Monitored AI — how many AI tools in your environment are under Shield's watch.
- Blocked AI Events — how often policies actually prevented an action.
- Open AI Risks — discovered tools and findings that still need a decision.
Prompt volume and risk distribution
Prompt volume shows AI activity across your organization over the last 14 days — the fastest way to see adoption trends and unusual spikes. Risk distribution breaks your AI-tool inventory down by risk level, based on data exposure, vendor trust, and compliance posture.
Top AI apps and recent events
Top AI apps ranks the tools your team actually uses — often the first place shadow AI becomes visible. Recent events streams the latest policy-relevant actions; the full, filterable record lives in the audit log.
An empty dashboard is a signal too
Until the first Shield Web extension reports in, the dashboard shows an empty state pointing you to Discovery ("No data yet — install the Shield browser extension…"). That is the expected starting point — follow the rollout guide and the numbers appear as your team browses.
